Bobby Ewing

Licensed Optician

Bobby Ewing is a second-generation optician, who grew up learning the trade in his father’s West Palm Beach optical shop and then worked for an optometric practice. He’s been a licensed optician since 1983. Ewing opened his own optical shop in 1986.Bobby lives in the Western Communities with his wife, Billie Jean, and 3 children. He actively volunteers with many committees and is on the Board of Trustees of Palms West Hospital.“Being an Optician is not only my profession, but also my passion.”

Denise Waller

Licensed Optician

Denise Waller became licensed in the state of Florida in 1992. She has been employed by Ewing Optical Since March of 1998, working with and getting to know so many long-time customers. Denise lives in Wellington on a five-acre rescue animal farm with her husband Butch and their menagerie of animals. Her interests include painting, cooking, and riding horses. They enjoy spending time with friends and taking care of the farm. “It has been my privilege to serve so many wonderful people in the western communities for so long. I’m fortunate to work in a place where I love my customers and love what I do.”

Debbie Ayers

Licensed Optician

Debbie is a Florida native, and her dad was an optometrist who practiced in downtown Lake Worth. After graduating from Wake Forest University and while working with her dad, she decided opticianry could be a fulfilling career. She went on to become a board certified licensed optician. Eventually, Debbie became an optical manager for twenty years for an ophthalmology practice. She managed the optical departments in three locations. In 2018 Debbie came out of her one year retirement to work part time at Ewing Optical. She was thrilled to return to a job she realized she missed, especially since Ewing Optical shares her philosophy of treating customers as family.

Hey my name’s Gilza, they call me GG. You’ll see me at the front desk to check in patients and as the staff support specialist. I have been part of the Ewing Optical family since 2018. I grew up in New York and now live in beautiful West Palm. Currently have two boys, they meow and are my world. Excited and working towards my bachelors. I still make time for my hobbies which include relaxing with a good book, listening to music or enjoying the outdoors.

Ivis is a nature enthusiast. She and her husband love to hit the trails, kayak, and just be outdoors on their free time. Ivis also volunteers teaching the Bible and has a passion for health, wellness, & aromatherapy.

Mary is one of our newest members of our team, she joined our family in November of 2020. She has worked locally in the optometry field for over 15 years. At a young age she was presented with the opportunity to be an apprentice optician and the rest is history! Through the years she has not only learned how to gain more experience in the field but has also worked with doctors who have different specialties, giving her more experience to help her patients. She enjoys working with patients and educating them on different lens benefits catered to their everyday life and of course, picking out glasses! Recently she started learning to throw pottery, enjoys paddle boarding on the intercoastal and spends her weekends spoiling Petunia Rose, her newly adopted puppy.

Dr. Plumb is a Residency Trained, Board Certified Optometric Physician. Dr. Plumb has been practicing since 1995 in the field of Optometry. Dr. Plumb provides high quality, comprehensive family eye care and is able to meet a majority of your eyecare needs. Services include examinations for contact lenses, eyeglasses, medical visits, conjunctivitis, dry eye, foreign body removal, emergency visits, treatment of eye disease, co-management of cataract and refractive surgery, etc.

Dr. Rhodes

Independent Optometrist

Dr. Rhodes is a Board Certified Optometric Physician that graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in May of 2000. While in college, Dr. Rhodes was the first place winner of Varilux Optometry Super Bowl. He received the Chancellors Award, the highest award given to any optometry student. He taught optics to the other students, hired by the University. He then completed a residency in ocular disease at the Braverman Eye Center in Hallandale Beach, Florida. Dr. Rhodes has practiced at private opticals, corporate settings, and at TLC Laser Center throughout his career. Dr. Rhodes has been a member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida optometric Association, and the Palm Beach County Optometric Association since graduation.
